Ban trans fat,ban junk food, ban obesity?
Trans fat has been ousted…There are many other foods that have been banned before:
-Key Lime Pie: There seems to be a chance of salmonella poisoning due to the presence of partially cooked egg white.
-Junk food in school meals in England: On the hit list are chocolate, crisps, fizzy drinks and “low-quality” meat.
-Worcester sauce crisps: These chips have been shelved as they contain traces of Sudan 1, the illegal dye that can cause cancer.
-Mini-cup gel candies: These jellies contain “konjac” also known as conjac, konnyaku, yam flour, or glucomannan. The reason for pulling it off the shelves is the serious choking risk these pose to infants, children and the elderly.
Not to forget the beef scare and the Belgian butter ban quite some time ago, and the cola controversy that made waves in India recently.
It just goes to show that most of what we consume is unsafe….can someone ban ill health please?
