Brain food
The New Year’s here and we’ve had our share of diet insights. Now you know that chocolate is good for you, a little wine helps, soda pop is slow poisoning and trans fat is unacceptable.
We’ll kick start the year with a little more news on junk food. What you eat influences the way your brain works. The Standard American Diet which consists of empty calories does not provide enough fiber, minerals, vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids and phytonutrients. Junk food gives you canned tomatoes, onions, iceberg lettuce and potatoes as your share of greens. That is simply not healthy enough. What you need is more fruits, vegetables, oily fish, nuts, and whole grain.

You brain contains billions of nerve cells and your food intake affects its functioning. So its not just your weight you have to watch when you eat. It’s your mind too.
