Measuring heart rate during cardio
Your heart rate during cardio is usually 60-80% of your maximum intensity heart rate.
- Use your forefinger and middle finger to feel the pulse on the inside of the wrist below your thumb. You can also place your fingers on the side of your windpipe, just below the jaw to get the right count. Count the beats for 10 seconds then multiply by six to get beats per minute.
-Use an electronic heart rate monitor, which can be strapped to your chest or on a watch. There are cardio machines with pulse recorders on handlebars. You could probably find such equipment in any good gym.
