Pop goes the diet
All kids and teenagers live on coke.
Soda pop is all sugar and empty calories. It tastes great but you can’t live on it. Soda pop makes you obese if you keep guzzling it down and studies have proven that kids who drink soda pop all too often are more likely to be overweight.
Soda pop spoils your nice set of teeth and creates gum disorders as the sugar that stays between the teeth breaks down into bacteria and produces eroding acids. The phosphorous content in soft drinks depletes your bones of calcium causing osteoporosis (especially in girls). Soda pop increases irritability and loss of appetite in some children. Another problem with soft drinks is allergies that can come up due to intolerance to certain additives like azo dyes found in some orange and lemon squashes.
Studies reveal that a can of non-diet cola contains as much as seven spoons of sugar. So go for diet cokes. These claim to be less sugar-heavy. It is not easy to kick off soda pop induced caffeine addiction.
And yes, it is an Addiction. You keep craving for more and when you try to stay off it, you are tempted to have a little more.

I must confess I am one of those teens who are addicted to the Colas. I refuse to drink anything diet aside form Sprite, as the taste just isn’t there.
But hey, I go to the gym everday, so I keep myself in shape. =)
And I’m not a girl so that bone thing shouldn’t be as big of a problem.

Hey David what about your teeth?
And why do you have to build up on calories and then lose it in the gym?
I’ll say have your sprite once in a while and stick to juices and water. It’s hard at first. I lived on coke once upon a time but when you really decide hey I don’t need this, you really don’t need it any more.

I switched frim regular to diet soda a while back and lost about ten pounds in the first two weeks. I’ve been cutting back recently, but every once in a while I need that caffiene boost!
