Working mom or Juggling Mom?
I liked this post about how moms juggle work and home:
To juggle, by definition is to hold, catch, carry, or balance precariously; almost drop, then catch and hold again. That described my life. Keeping everything up in the air was exhausting.
To balance is to maintain a state of equilibrium; equal distribution of weight, or amount.
Work-at-home moms have it good with the opportunity to make money and be at home but that has its share of stress factors too. What moms who work at home or in the office have to do is to find harmony in their life instead of try to have it all.
How do you do that? You make a checklist of what you want in your life right now.
1. Is it my career that needs focus or my kids? There is no morality behind this. It has to be my decision.
2. Am I taking care of myself enough? Am I keeping track of my food habits? Am I drinking enough water? Am I exercising?(These things are important too)
3. Do I have enough me time? I believe we all need that.
4. Am I getting angry far too often> Am I listless about my relationship? Is getting some sleep all I have to think about?
5. Am I happy with my performance at work or at home?
Answering these questions help us to start focusing on how wrong or right our lives are. Sometimes we give in too much time to our careers at the expense of our health or family. Sometimes we give so much to our family at the expense of our career and self-esteem.Once we identify what kind of people we are, we can start changing the way we live.
