Wu-Yi Tea
WARNING… The Wu-Yi System Was Not Created For Those People Who Only Want To Lose A Few Measly Pounds. The Wu-Yi System was created to help you achieve the incredible body you have always wanted… USE WITH CAUTION!
That’s the caption from one of the cazillion weight loss products on the market. What is the Wu-Yi system you ask? It’s an ancient Chinese secret. Sounds like that commercial from years ago about spray starch. From what I gather this “Wu-Yi is just another common product marketed as the next revolutionary weight loss wonder. The copy goes on for what seems endless pages, filled with all the reasons you should buy their product over the others. Naturally it cites that diets don’t work and gives comparisons to Atkins, South Beach and the like. And of course you should buy this product because they spend scores of money and time on research (wink-wink). The manufacturer also stresses that “this fast and effective weight loss solution was designed with you in mind. Hmm, they don’t know me how can they design a product with moi in mind? Whatever. Of course it’s been featured on the CNN and AOL websites. Wow I guess that does it huh, any product featured on a popular site must be the real deal. The right amount of money can place an ad just about anywhere people, let’s get real. Then there are the testimonials, lots of them with before and after pictures. On page 1001 they even offer to pay you $1000.00 if you send a picture and a written testimonial. Don’t want to send a picture? A written testimonial alone will net you $250 bones if they use it.
Wait a minute, gotta have someone well know to endorse it as well.
Along comes : Jason Walsh from jasonwalshtraining.com. Jason has trained the likes of Jessica Biel, Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Jennifer Garner) and now recommends Wu-Yi tea to all of his clients. The fine print all lets us know that *Individual has been remunerated. Which means he’s been paid to say that.
So I’m thinking what the heck let’s see if I qualify for the exclusive free trial. Here’s the questions asked and my answers.
- Name of course
- Current weight - 130
- Desired weight - 125
Here’s their response:Based on your goals of moving from 130 lbs to 125 lbs, your height of 5′4″ and the fact you are 53 years of age, you seem like the perfect candidate for one of our remaining weight loss packages with 14-day Free Trial period. Of course there were a few more questions:
- Is my goal to lose at least 10 lbs? - I say yes that’s the closet to my goal
- Is there a particular even I want to lose weight for? - I chose wedding from the choices listed
- Do you need motivation from friends?- I said sometimes (not true)
- How often do you think about food? - all the time (I do, that’s my job)
- Body Type?- In the food basket of life I’m a pear
Then there’s all the standard address, email, and telephone (I was a bit hesitant to include that one). Next comes more pages of copy and the guarantees, and the required $4.95 for shipping and handling. And that’s where I stopped. Gonna think some more about taking that next step. I’ve got a hunch that this tea is like the other’s out there. One is called Ballerina Tea and it’s a very potent laxative. My guess is that Wu-Yi is the same. Go back to the first part of this piece, the part that says WARNING… The Wu-Yi System Was Not Created For Those People Who Only Want To Lose A Few Measly Pounds.
Correct me if I’m wrong but when determining my eligibility for the free trial I said I wanted to lose 5 lbs. I kind thought that was measly. At least that’s what I keep calling the last 5 lbs I want to shed. And as I continue writing this I think I’ll keep my measly $5 in my pocket rather than give it to the WU-YI people for shipping and handling. A good dose of prunes and figs will accomplish the same thing. This one goes into the hot mess category.

??? Well DUH ??? Call me anything you’d like, gullible etc., but don’t you think you should at least try something or at the very least know someone who has before voicing your opinion. One year ago at a normal weight I learned I had angina (faulty heart). Ok maybe it is hype to quit smoking who knows what is or is not anymore. Ah - ha tests showed that my thyroid was not working. Dr. put me on med that may cause weight gain. Now a hundred pounds latter - eating ssensibly (less than 1,000 calories a day) - a life long habit (my cholesterol is very low and never been a problem) - heck I make my own yogurt - gentle exercise I can not do anything real strenuous. I am a balloon wouldn’t you pay under $5 on the outside chance this may work?
I hate it when people go around blowing their big horn without knowing a note or music or doing anything but make a lot of Senseless noise!!! Ever hear, “PUT UP OR SHUT UP”?

No I won’t call you gullible, I’ll call you Vicki and congrats on taking charge of your wellness. I know a lot of people who have tried products similar to WU YI Tea and I know the heartache they experienced when yet another hyped product didn’t work. And I’m blowing my big horn because I’ve wasted countless dollars, time and energy on products that didn’t live up to their claim. I also know that laxatives are a quick fix better suited to boxers trying to make weight than a permanent weight loss solution. What a wonderful country we live in when we can voice our opinion, and know our music whether it sounds off key to others or not. Take Care and Be Well.
